Despite news of a COVID-19 vaccine on the horizon, this Christmas will look nothing like the festivities we are all used to. Though there may be a light at the end of the tunnel, so many in our community are bracing themselves for a long, hard winter.
Every year, we are lucky enough to receive dozens of toys for children who might otherwise go without at Christmas. But this year, after so many families have faced such unprecedented hardship, we wanted to help bridge the gap in a practical way.
That’s why we are aiming to raise £5000 for our Christmas Voucher fund, where families will be given vouchers alongside their food parcels and encouraged to use them for whatever will help them cope this winter.
As much as we love our annual tradition of present giving we, like everyone else, have to adapt this year and believe families know more than anyone what it is they need.
