Christmas at Brent Foodbank

3rd November 2023

Christmas can be a magical time of year. Full of joy, spending time with family and loved ones, snuggling up on the sofa watching Love Actually for the umpteenth time. It’s easy to forget that there are people in our community; maybe a neighbour, maybe the lady you say hello to walking down the street or the family you see in your local park; for whom Christmas can particularly difficult. If you’re feeling isolated, have suffered a family breakdown or loss of a family member, are experiencing ill physical or mental health, and on top of this, you’re battling to afford to buy basic essentials from week to week, Christmas may only magnify these struggles.

But there small things that we all can do to help. So if you want to make a difference this winter, why not support Brent Foodbank!

Here are some simple, easy ways you can help…

Brent Foodbank’s Christmas Gift Voucher Campaign

We are very excited to launch this year’s Christmas Gift Voucher Campaign! Instead of giving people a present chosen by us or our donors, we will distribute a store gift voucher for people needing emergency food to spend as they wish. And the more money raise, the more sparkle we can sprinkle!

Bankuet

Bankuet is an incredibly easy way to donate food to Brent Foodbank without even leaving your house! Donating to Bankuet means we can buy what we need, when we need it, and they’ll deliver it.

Donate Food

And of course, there’s always good old fashioned food donations. This could be one can of baked beans that you put into one of our supermarket collections or setting up a donation drive at work, school or amongst your neighbours. No matter how big or small the donation, it all makes a difference, and it all adds up. And your tin beans will go directly to someone who needs it.

But please remember that people don’t just need food banks at Christmas. We are supporting people all year round who just don’t have enough money to feed themselves or their family, and we can’t do it without your support. Why not sign up to our newsletter to keep in touch with the work we do and ways you can get involved throughout the year.
